Konark Sun Temple, India

Konark Sun Temple ( କୋଣାର୍କ ସୁର୍ଯ୍ୟ ମନ୍ଦିର )is a 13th-century AD Sun Temple at Konark in Odisha,India. It is believed that the temple was built by king Narasimhadeva I of Eastern Ganga Dynastyin 1255 AD. The temple complex is in the shape of a gigantic chariot, having elaborately carved stone wheels, pillars and walls. A major part of the structure is now in ruins.

According to Bhavishya Purana and Samba Purana, there may have been a sun temple in the region earlier than current one, dating to the 9th century or earlier. The books mention three sun temples at Mundira (possibly Konark), Kalapriya (Mathura), and Multan.

According to the scriptures, Samba, the son of Krishna, was cursed with leprosy. He was advised by the sage, Kataka, to worship the sun god to cure his aliment. Samba underwent penance for 12 years in Mitravana near the shores of Chandrabhaga. Both the original Konark temple and the Multan temple have been attributed to Samba.

Noah's Ark Found - is it real?

Recreated picture : The structure claimed to be Noah's Ark in Durupınar site, Agri, Turkey

Searches for Noah's Ark, sometimes referred to as arkeology, have been made from at least the time of Eusebius (c.275–339 CE) to the present day. Despite many expeditions, no scientific evidence of the ark has been found. The practice is regarded aspseudoscience and pseudoarchaeology.

Near the top of Mount Ararat (seen from Armenia in a file photo) in Turkey, explorers claim to have found Noah's ark. A team of evangelical Christian explorers claim they've found the remains of Noah's ark beneath snow and volcanic debris on Turkey's Mount Ararat (map).
